Located just east of the
City of Winchester, Alresford has previously been named as one of the best
places to live in the UK by The Sunday
Times. It’s filled with traditional shops, a busy market where fresh local
produce and goods can be found, and plenty of places to eat and drink too, with
eateries to suit every taste in Alresford. Find out more in our Alresford area guide.
Alresford is filled with
period properties, including colour-washed Georgian homes, farmhouses and
traditional cottages, as well as modern detached houses and apartments. Many
homes were rebuilt in the 17th century and still retain their
original 13th-century cellars.
As well as the medieval City of Winchester, the area features restaurants, bars and shops, and attractions Winchester Cathedral and Wolvesey Castle. The villages of Ropley and Itchen Stoke are also nearby.
