Rolling green fields, excellent transport links and great schools, and some truly illustrious neighbours: Windsor has it all.
The historic town is most famous for the royal residence that shares its name, and while the castle does dominate the skyline of the quaint settlement, Windsor is so much more than a place for tourists to take pictures.
Served by two train stations, a number of bus routes, and accessible by the major motorway networks, Windsor is about as well connected as a London satellite can be. Yet, it’s also easy to find spots around the town that offer a complete escape from the bustle of modern life, whether it be a charming country pub, hidden pathways in beautiful wooded areas, or viewpoints that deliver seas of green.
If you do enjoy the energy of a lively hub, you’re in luck. The centre benefits from a generous number of modern boutiques and old family-run businesses, as well as all the more familiar high street names. The Royal Borough is also blessed with a thriving bar scene, whether you’re keen for an elegant cocktail in a high-end venue or a crisp pint in a pub that’s older than some countries. Plus the food culture is excellent, with some exceptional small eateries and favourite big names for more relaxed dining.
School-wise there are few better places in the country. Windsor is lucky enough to be in the catchment area for a great mix of private, selective, and state schools. There’s also a wealth of child-friendly activities going on in the surrounding area, from popular youth football teams to table-top gaming groups.
Windsor itself is full of charming old houses, quaint cottages, new build flats, and everything in between. Nearby Slough and Staines offer more budget-friendly options for housing, while still delivering the local perks.
Nearby Offices:
Ever since this first meeting with Jo Chadwick, who is heading up the Windsor office, I have found Jo and Strutt & Parker to be very professional, knowledgable, honest and friendly. We have seen a number of properties now and are close to finalising an offer. I have bought and sold a number of properties over the years. I can genuinely say that Jo and Strutt & Parker are the best agents I have ever dealt with.
Bought and sold through Jo in what seemed to be record time. I was impressed with her professionalism, speed of action, ability to find solutions and her genuine nature which helps so much create rapport. Jo is extremely focused at finding a deal and vs other estate agents I have used in the past, I had full confidence in her ability. 100% I will go with Jo next time - thanks Jo!
Great service buying our house through Strutt and Parker. Jo Chadwick was well informed about the property and the sellers, and was always prompt and helpful with responses. Also helpfully proactive when the chain needed a little nudge!
