Gillian Ferguson

Gillian brings many years experience in the heritage sector with a particular focus on technical traditional building repair and and promotion of traditional skills. She has managed major grant schemes for Historic Environment Scotland, local authorities and charitable trusts to repair and maintain Scotland’s traditional buildings and upskill the construction industry. Gillian excelled at creating funding applications and including community benefits, upskilling and the needs of wider stakeholders into projects.

A decade ago a career change and qualification as a RICS Chartered Surveyor saw Gillian bring these skills to the rural land management and agricultural sector. 

An experienced ‘all-rounder’ having worked for both landlord and tenant clients, Gillian’s particular specialisms are agricultural, residential and commercial tenancy matters, valuations, utilities, renewable energy, utilities and telecoms. She has been involved in a wide range of planning, development and diversification opportunities for farming and estate clients in private and public ownership and in the third sector. She enjoys taking projects from conception to managing works being undertaken on the ground. 

With her experience of the construction industry and building contractors she has a particular flair for creating maintenance budgets and regimes and undertaking property refurbishment and upgrades.
