Michael Laing

He has a wealth of experience in mixed use Scottish Estates including sporting, agricultural and forestry properties and he brings a broad and commercially aware perspective to the wide variety of aspects that modern rural Estates must consider. He is a trusted advisor to several landowning clients spanning the length and breadth of Scotland.

Michael specialises in creating lasting relationships with his clients and their Estates and has, for 18 years, provided advice on a Scottish Borders Estate involved in shooting, residential property, forestry, and more recently, a natural capital project involving a 300 hectare new woodland creation project which is delivering a new income source to the owners. Michael is also involved in the management of a highland estate where he delivered a 350 hectare new woodland creation project and a west coast estate where he is progressing a 50 hectare scheme. As a result, Michael has considerable experience in woodland creation carbon projects.

Michael is an excellent communicator and his hands on day-to-day management of a variety of estates sees him keeping in close contact with all staff members, colleagues and client’s, to ensure his client’s aims are being met. Michael has built a large contact database which ensures he has the necessary links to help clients deal with almost any matter that arises!
