A charming 17th century home, conveniently placed for Maidenhead town centre and station

Dating back to the 17th century, a unique property that comprises the middle section of a former manor house that was skilfully split into three properties in 1960. This stunning family home is testament to the current owner’s obvious design flair and eye for detail, and showcases the property’s many charming features, including the spacious drawing room with its impressive timber columns, parquet flooring, panelled walls and hand-carved open fireplace. This room links with the serene sitting room featuring a bay window with window shutters and double full-height doors opening to the dining room, all combining to provide superb entertaining space.

The country-style kitchen/breakfast room, with its mellow parquet flooring, provides ample space for informal dining and is fitted with Andrew Macintosh units, a double butler sink and an oil Alpha range cooker which serves the heating and hot water; there is also a larder. The ground floor further comprises a sun room with direct access to the rear garden, a cloakroom, and stairs descending to a cellar.

On the first floor is the spacious principal bedroom with a bay window overlooking the garden, and an en suite bathroom. There is a further bedroom with an en suite shower room, two additional bedrooms (one with an en suite cloakroom and the other currently being utilised as a dressing room), and a striking family bathroom featuring a stand-alone slipper bath. The accommodation on the second floor is flexible and is arranged to provide an office, useful storage space and a family room/bedroom 5.

Outside

Kimbers is approached via a spacious graveled driveway that provides access to the garaging and parking for several vehicles. To the rear, a paved patio spanning the width of the house features a pond and a well, and adjoins an area of lawn that extends past a high-level clipped hedge to a further area containing mature apple and plum trees and housing a detached home office with a kitchenette and shower room, and a separate reading room.
