The arable land at West Wratting is a compact block of commercial arable land. It is well laid out with good access from the farm drive and tracks. All the fields are gently undulating and generally large and regular in shape.

The land is classified Grade 2 with soil belonging to the Hanslope series, a calcareous clay loams over chalk. The land grows high yielding cereal crops.

There are a number of blocks of woodland that provide shelter and an attractive backdrop to the farmland. These are believed to have been planted about 30 years ago and feature ash, oak, cherry and sycamore with some scots pine, silver birch and woodland shrubs.

Situation

The land at West Wratting is situated in the gently rolling chalk hills East of Cambridge, which is home to some of the most commercial farmland in the county. The land is located in SE Cambridgeshire and is readily accessible from local roads in all directions - the A11 trunk road is 5½ miles to the West. The regional centres of Haverhill, Newmarket and Cambridge are both close by and offer a broad range of retail, commercial and leisure services.
