An Elegant period country home in beautiful grounds

Grove House is a very handsome Georgian country home which has undergone extensive refurbishment and alterations during the present owner’s occupation, yet which retains many of the original features. The traditional symmetrical floor plan provides three light, spacious reception rooms with high ceilings and sash windows, and of note, the Orangery extension off the drawing room. This has superb views across the gardens to the north west. The breakfast room has the remnants of a recessed fireplace currently housing a comfy sofa and leads to the kitchen. This has been fitted with a range of bespoke fitted cabinets with granite surfaces and has windows to front and rear aspect. A rear door provides access to the inner lobby beyond which has a utility room, an office and a cloakroom. There is also a cellar approached from the entrance hall.

First floor accommodation within the main house comprises a master bedroom suite with dressing room and en suite bathroom with a roll top bath, his and hers wash hand basins and a shower. Three further double bedrooms and three bathrooms are also on this level. A door from the dressing room accesses a landing with bedroom five and an en- suite. The staircase from this landing leads to the ground and second floors, the latter having substantial accommodation comprising four double bedrooms, a tv room, a storage room and shower room.

The landscaped gardens and grounds provide a mature setting, lovingly tended by the present owners. The main lawn has been arranged as three distinct areas, separated by shingle paths, well stocked borders, and avenues of conical shaped conifers. To one side, a large area of decking overlooks a garden pond, and from these lawns there is open farmland to the rear. To the north west, the heated swimming pool has a pool house, and is surrounded by a terrace and well secluded by conifers. Adjacent is the kitchen garden with greenhouse, fruit cages and rose bushes. The shingle drive has parking for several vehicles and has a gate to a part covered, enclosed courtyard with ornate garden pond. From here, access can be gained to the games room, workshop, triple carport double and single garage. The property is approached via private security gates.

This property has 1.9 acres of land.
