What are your key areas of responsibility at Strutt & Parker?
As head of Estate Agency at Chelmsford, my role is to pitch for, market, negotiate and progress sales through to completion. Setting targets for a small driven team of enthusiastic staff brings its own rewards, and marketing decisions within the team can be made instantly. Chelmsford and the surrounding areas of North Essex have some of the most attractive countryside. Having lived and worked in the area for the majority of my career, I am able to utilise an extensive knowledge of the area for the benefit of existing and future clients. This provides its own advantages for selling properties in the county.
What’s the best thing about your job?
Having the opportunity of gaining the clients trust from day one and seeing the transaction through to completion is very rewarding. Nothing is ever guaranteed to proceed without complication, but having over 30 years’ experience in resolving problems on the clients behalf is very satisfying.
What has been your proudest moment at Strutt & Parker?
The proudest moment most recently was selling a property for an elderly couple who had the misfortune of finding themselves in financial difficulty. Understanding the nature of their problem, and being able to assist removed a great burden from their shoulders.
What do you love about the city you work in?
Chelmsford was recently appointed City status and is a vibrant and exciting town with a fantastic selection of schools, restaurants, pubs and shopping facilities. Its easy access to London and Stansted Airport add to its attraction, and make it a favourable town for commuters and students alike. Chelmsford’s importance as a long established centre of commerce and industry since the 19th century and its rich cultural history make it a must for families seeking to find a base to settle long term.
