A Grade II Listed family home with river frontage

Dating from c.1450, Church Cottages is an attractive, timber-framed and plastered property, sensitively extended by the current owners to provide more than 3,000 sq. ft. of light-filled accommodation. Arranged over two floors in a peaceful rural location, yet within easy reach of London and local amenities.

The home offers modern living, yet retains characterful period features including casement windows and exposed wall and ceiling beams. Featuring wooden flooring throughout. The ground floor comprises a large triple aspect drawing/dining room with open fireplace, a generous reception hall/study and a spacious sitting room with fireplace and wood burning stove and a glazed door to the rear terrace. The extensive 33 ft. dual aspect bespoke Humphrey Munson kitchen/breakfast room leads to a useful fitted utility room with a door to the rear garden. The kitchen provides a range of wall and base units including a large central island with breakfast bar, an Aga, modern integrated appliances and French doors to the rear terrace whilst the double-height breakfast area has a glazed galleried walkway over and sky lanterns flooding the area with natural light.

Accessed via the main staircase rising from the hall, the first floor accommodation offers a spacious principal bedroom with built-in storage, three further well-proportioned double bedrooms, all with built-in storage, a modern family shower room and a spacious contemporary family bathroom.

A second staircase rises from the kitchen/breakfast room to a landing with a modern family shower room giving access to a walkway overlooking the breakfast area below and leading to the property’s remaining vaulted double bedroom. The property has recently been connected to superfast ‘fibre to the home’ broadband which, combined with space and easy commuting to London when required, make this the ideal location from which to work from home.

This property has 6 acres of land.
