a block of coniferous commercial forestry with several fields of arable land.
This is a lot combining mainly coniferous commercial forestry with several fields of arable land. Situated about a mile to the west of Fettercairn, access into the block of forestry from which this lot takes its name Wood of Barna is directly off the main road running along the western boundary. Established between the 1960s and 1990s and comprising compartments of mainly sitka spruce supplemented by additional coniferous species, this block has been managed as a commercial crop, to include some thinning and felling of timber. The majority of the crop will reach maturity for felling in the course of the next 10 to 20 years. Adjoining the forestry to the south are four arable fields of grade 3(1) quality comprising mainly humus iron podzols.Read all
