Our Planning services:

Strategic Development Planning & Site Promotions

There are a range of measures available to promote and maintain client's sites and other interests through the development plan process.  Strutt & Parker guides clients through this complex process by identifying the key opportunities for involvement, developing a strategic case to suit long and short-term development requirements. This includes making representations to Development Plan documents at the appropriate time to promote and protect development interests and, if appropriate, presenting evidence at Development Plan public examinations.

Planning Appraisals, Applications & Appeals

From advising on the development potential of a site through to preparing, submitting and managing planning applications for a wide range of developments, our careful and collaborative approach maximises the prospects of success. Different planning authorities often have specific requirements and we pride ourselves on our ability to tailor our approach to suit local circumstances. Where appeals are necessary, we will advise on the most appropriate appeal method and present evidence to provide a thorough and well considered reasoned justification.

We also handle applications for Lawful Development Certificates, listed building/conservation area consent, and advertisement consent.

Environmental Impact Assessments

Specialist advice is essential to assess whether EIA is required and if so how to manage the process. Strutt & Parker provide the necessary skills to manage the entire process, from the selection and management of key EIA specialists to the preparation and coordination of Environmental Statements. Our in-house IEMA registered assessor ensures EIAs are undertaken in accordance with current regulations.

Community Engagement

Public Inquiry and Expert Witness work

Our detailed knowledge and experience of planning law in both Scotland and England enables us to give expert advice and advocacy together with reliable expert witness testimony on all matters relating to planning law.
