Believed to date originally from the late 16th century, this exquisite family home has been subject to an exceptional restoration and modernisation combining elegant character with all the conveniences for modern living. With many of the original features of this charming farmhouse having been retained and now enhanced during the renovations, Whitehouse Farm offers a wealth of charm, with exposed timber beams, stone and wooden floors, and attractive fireplaces.

The reception hall gives access on one side to a drawing room with double doors to the garden, and a corresponding sitting room on the other, which feature back-to-back inglenook fireplaces. A further reception room, being the dining room, leads through to the impressive open-plan kitchen/breakfast room. The kitchen is fitted with modern base level units, topped with wood work surfaces and at its heart is an Aga stove, within a brick housing, with wood-beam lintel above. There is a staircase to access the first floor and another to the cellar in the kitchen/dining room, along with an inner hallway to the utility room and access to the gardens.

An impressive Jacobean staircase gives access to the first floor. Four double bedrooms, three of which are en-suite, and a family bathroom lie to this floor, whereas, the third floor hosts three further bedrooms, of which two have en suite facilities, and a cloakroom; accessed from two separate staircases.

Local Authority: East Suffolk District Services: Oil fired central heating, private drainage, all other mains services are connected.

This property has 2.4 acres of land.

Outside

The property is approached via a gated long gravel driveway, which gives access to the detached triple car port, along with the outbuilding, which is linked to the house. This comprises eight separate units, as well as an upper level, and offers the potential for a number of uses, including workshops, equipment storage and perhaps home working accommodation or annexe; all subject to the necessary consents.

The property enjoys an open aspect to the front surrounding countryside, bordered by mature trees, whilst further mature planting fill the grounds with large areas laid to lawn. Adjoining the rear of the house is an expanse of paved terracing providing opportunities for outdoor dining and relaxation. The gardens are an area for the new buyers to put their own stamp on and create whichever outdoor green-haven they desire.
