The Manor House is Listed Grade II*. It is believed to originally date from the Jacobean period, although with later additions and alterations. The house has much better proportions than most Cotswold houses of its period, with good ceiling heights and plenty of large windows, making the rooms light and bright. Hannington Wick is a small hamlet, set amidst open farmland close to the Wiltshire/Gloucestershire border. Hannington village, about a mile away, and has a pub and a church. The market town of Highworth is 4 miles, providing every day amenities, including a family butcher, chemist and delicatessen. Cirencester is about 14 miles to the North and other local towns include Shrivenham, Fairford and Lechlade. Swindon is about 12 miles and has a wide range of shops and services. Communications are excellent with direct rail services to Paddington taking from 55 minutes from Swindon station. Junction 15 of the M4 is about 14 miles. Private schools in the area include Prior Park at Cricklade, Pinewood, Hatherop Castle, St Hugh’s, Marlborough College and a wide range in Cheltenham. The area is also well served with state primary schools and secondary schools. The area hosts a wide variety of sporting opportunities. Equestrian events include Badminton Horse Trials, National Hunt racing at Cheltenham and Newbury and Polo at Cirencester Park. There are many golf courses in the area and the Cotswold Water Park caters for all water sport enthusiasts. Directions

From the A419 take the turning for Highworth (the B4019). After about 2 miles turn left by The Freke Arms pub for Hannington. In the middle of Hannington turn right for Hannington Wick and Kempsford. Drop down the hill and the pillared entrance to The Manor House will be found on the left after about a mile, immediately before a post box on your right.
