EPC’s will become more important over the next few years as it is the determining factor for the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) which come into effect in April 2018. From 2018 all new lettings and lease renewals will require a building to have an E grade or better, those with an F or G grade will require improvement. These standards apply to all let non-domestic property from 2023 even where they has been no change in tenant or tenancy renewal.
